Rated 2 out of 5�by Business traveler Avoid the Verbatim 32 gig USB sticks
After having purchased and used sucessfully about five of the 16 gig Verbatim Store "N" Go brand USB sticks I moved up to the 32 gig size. After purchasing two at the same time and using them for about 3 or 4 months of use (and used about 19.5 gig of capacity each time) each flash drive became write-protected and will no longer function. Attempting to copy your files off of the stick is impossible as much of the data becomes corrupted. All attempts to work around the write-protection fails as there is a hidden directory that cannot be eliminated from the stick and the stick cannot be reformated. Verbatim's own recovery software does not work in this case.
Maybe this is a bad bunch of USB drives from Verbatim. Don't know, but I won't be back for a third one and would caution you against purchasing this Verbatim product, the 32 gig Store "N" Go, for regular use.

The $15.99 sale price was reasonable. I don't care for the software for the secured area. The data is encrypted as it is installed and therefore inorder to edit the data it must be transferred back onto the computer.

I never even was able to finish the initial backup before something happened and now the disk is "protected" and stow n go software is not accessible. If I could, I would switch products, but I no longer have a receipt and will wind up exchanging for another non-functioning drive.
